12 More Persons Tested Covid Positive In Nadia

Krishnanagar, May 27: 12 new Covid positive cases were reported in Nadia on Wednesday.

As per the information provided by the district administration the new Covid patients are residents of Ranaghat-II, Krishnagar-I, Kaliganj, Hanskhali, Haringhata, and Tehatta block. Except for one case, all the patients recently returned home from Maharashtra.

All the new patienrs were admitted to the Kalyani based SNR Carnival hospital, the only dedicated Covid hospital in the district.

With the new inclusion of the 12 patients, the total number of Covid positive patients were raised to 38 in Nadia.

On the other hand, as per the bulletin issued by the state health department, the state has recorded 183 new cases, which is 10 short from Monday. The total number of positive cases recorded as 4192 in the state till Wednesday evening. 

Insiders in the district administration, meanwhile, attributed the latest spike in the number of Covid positive cases to the migrant laborers returned home mostly from Maharashtra.

The spike amidst the post-Amphan situation has become a major cause for concern to the state government.

Doctors have attributed apparent negligence and lack of sincerity to obey strict home quarantine norms as the major cause behind the spike.
