Nabadweep, Jan.1: The Gaudiya Mission, a Vaishnab organization today launched an English medium co-education school in Ghatigacha village of Swarupganj. The new school titled ‘Gaudiya Mission Vidya Mandir’, would particularly cater the need of students belong to socially and economically backward classes who mainly live within 12km radius of the school. The school would follow CBSE curriculum.
The new school has been launched today to mark the centenary celebration of the Gaudiya Mission. The school would start functioning from April 2018. However, in the first session it would accommodate only students upto class IV from pre-primary level. School sources said that it would be upgraded upto Class XII in 2019-20 educational session.
Today the school was inaugurated by Haridas Debnath, a Nadia zilla parishad member. A spokes-person of the Gaudiya Mission said: “Our objective is not just to impart formal education to the students irrespective of their religions and social background rather to develop the internal resources so that they could come to help society in broader ways”. “Apart from fostering academic excellence , we will strive to generate awareness about Lord Sri Chaitanya’s philosophy and his preaching”, the spokesperson added.
