Krishnanagar, May 16: The state government would soon identify the correctional homes in the state where great fighters of National freedom struggle spent their days as prisoners under the British rule. The state government has also planned install special memorabilia at those correctional homes as a mark of tribute to them.
This is stated by newly appointed state correctional services minister Ujjwal Biswas in Krishnanagar today. The minister told this in reply to a felicitation given to him by the euphoric Trinamul Congress supporters on his home coming late in the evening.
Biswas, who was inducted as a minister to the Mamata Banerjee’s cabinet early on the day has also said that the security arrangements at the correctional homes across the state will be reviewed and strengthened. “This is very important issue which we have decided to finalize within a month time without fail”, he said.
Speaking on his plan about identification of the correctional homes with memories of great freedom fighters, the minister said, “There are many such correctional homes in the state with which memories of great sons of the country are associated. We would like to preserve their memories there. The installation of memorabilia is one the ways in this endeavor. We are still working on it make our effort more effective as a mark of our respect to those great sons”.
