Souraj Biswas, 33, of Santipur in Nadia district, pays homage to late Prime Minister Manmohan Singh by sculpting a clay bust on Friday. Deeply moved by Singh’s passing, whom he calls the “Pioneer of India’s financial renaissance,” Souraj said. It took around 7 uninterrupted hours to complete the clay model – a piece of unique craftsmanship, which he executed without any format or predesigned dice. “He changed the world’s view of India and made us financially self-reliant. His demise was a true shock for me. So, I tried to pay tribute to him in my way”, Souraj said.
