Kalyani Univ Signed Research Collaboration MoU With Calcutta School Of Tropical Medicine

Kalyani, July 31: The students studying in different streams under the science faculty at the University of Kalyani would henceforth get the opportunity to do their doctoral research works at the Calcutta School of Tropical Medicine.

The Kalyani University authorities today signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Calcutta School of Tropical Medicine as a research collaboration initiative. University sources said that under this agreement the students will be able to do their doctoral research under joint supervision of these two institutions. A MoU in this regard was signed today by KU vice chancellor professor Sankar Kumar Ghosh and head of CSTM’s head of regenerative medicine department professor Niranjan Bhattacharjee. The MoU will be remain effective for the next five years.

Vice chancellor professor Sankar Kumar Ghosh said: “This is a great imitative in the field of research collaboration between two major educational institutions. From the University side we are emphasizing on research in molecular medicine and genetic engineering. The Kalyani is gradually being developed as a health hub with existence of a number of hospitals and a medical college. The All Indian Institute of Medical Sciences is also coming up within next few years. We are hopeful that the research works to be carried out by the students of Kalyani University in the field of molecular medicine and genetic engineering will explore new avenues in the field of medicine and health studies”.
