Kalyani, Dec. 15: 95 year old Matua matriarch Binapani Devi admitted to Kalyani based Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital on Friday evening after she developed uneasiness apparently due to multiple old age complications.
She was brought to the hospital from her Thakurnagar based home and accommodated at a special room in the male medical ward.
The hospital authority formed a medical team consisting of five doctors led by hospital superintendent Subikash Biswas to examine her conditions.
Dr. Biswas said: “As per the initial diagnoses, it appears that she has been suffering from sodium and potassium deficiency apart from other problems. She is feeling drowsy as well. We have done some basic examinations today and found that her condition is stable. She will be under observations”.
Senior leaders of ruling Trinamul Congress and government officials today made inquiries about the condition of the elderly matriarch. A large number of her followers today gathered at the hospital a little after she was admitted.
