Bogula, April 28: Launching a blistering attack on Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, BJP National President J.P.Nadda on Sunday accused her of spreading “anarchy” and also alleged that despite having a woman chief minister the women in the state are not safe.
Speaking in Bogula, Nadda alleged that Mamata Banerjee came to power promising to be the voice of “Maa, Mat, and Manush, but now she is least concerned even about their existence.
Speaking about the atrocities on women in Sandeshkhali by a section of Trinamul Congress leaders like Sheikh Shahjahan and Mamata Banerjee’s deliberate attempt to save him, the union home minister said, “The country is pained to see the atrocities on women by Shahjahan Sheikh and his men in Sandeshkhali. But she (Mamata Banerjee) tried her best in all possible ways to save Shahjahan. Does it prove her concern about women?”
“It is unfortunate that despite being a women Chief Minister she was little bothered about the existence of the women in Sandeshkhali. Her government is not at all concerned about “Maa” (women) and Mati (Land)”, Nadda alleged referring to atrocities on women and grabbing of their land by the goons.
He also accused Mamata Banerjee of opposing the Citizenship Act due to such “appeasement” that “favors infiltrators”. He said, “Her government has the sympathy for those who terrorize people, grab their land…”
“Who are these persons for whom Mamata Banerjee is so eager to protect and why did she is die-hard to appease them? Nadda later told at an election rally in Nadia’s Bogula organized to support party’s Ranaghat candidate Jagannath Sarkar.
Earlier in a video statement J.P. Nadda also accused the Bengal government of spreading “anarchy” over the Sandeshkhali issue.
Making a scathing attack on the Bengal government, he said, “We have all seen how Mamata Banerjee’s government, miscreants like Shahjahan Sheikh are posing a threat to the existence of women in Sandeshkhali. Officials of the probing agencies who went to Sandeshkhali to protect the dignity of women were attacked. CBI recovered three foreign-made revolvers, one used by police, and several rounds of ammunition. NSG commandos had also to go to Sandeshkhali to protect people. From this, we can understand how Mamata Banerjee’s government has been spreading anarchy in Bengal”
Nadda in the video further said that “people” will “teach her a lesson”, while expressing solidarity with the victim women in Sandeshkhali and assuring justice to them.
In Bogula, countering Trinamul’s allegation of denying funds under the rural housing schemes, Nadda alleged that the Bengal Government “diverted funds” and never bothered to issue the “utilization certificate”, while trying to run the scheme in its name to “mislead” people.
“It was Modiji who sent money for the housing scheme for people. But Mamata put her stump on renaming the scheme as Banglar Awas Yojana to mislead you. She also diverted the funds and did not bother to send the utilization certificate. This is how her government looting public funds and poor people”, Nadda said in Bogula.
