Krishnanagar, Nov. 27: Bengal Congress president Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury today said that some party MLAs and councilors have left party to join the ruling Trinamul Congress, but the people who elected them are still with Congress. “The supporters remained loyal to the party and they still support it”, said the state Congress chief.

Replying to a question at Nadia district panchayat raj conference that held in Krishnanagar today, the Berhampur MP advised the party leaders and activists not to loose their ‘hearts’. “Departures of an MLA or a councilor makes little difference. It is the people and their support only matters. The people who voted those MLAs still back the party. So never bother who left us, rather concentrate to strengthen party’s support base leaving all prejudices, apprehension and fear. People still love Congress and they are still with the party”, Adhir said.
