Spurious Ghee Making Unit Unearthed In Phulia

Santipur, May 7: The police raided Buinchya village in Phulia last night and unearthed a workshop of manufacturing spurious ghee. Police have arrested owner of the workshop and his wife, who have been allegedly manufacturing ghee and supplying in Kolkata and other areas in low prices.

Accused Parthapratim Ghosh (46) and his wife Debashree Ghosh (41) were produced before the additional chief judicial magistrate’s court in Ranaghat, who were ordered three day’s police custody.

The sleuth have recovered four drums of edible white oil as well as vanaspati, refined oil which allegedly used in manufacturing of the spurious ghee.

Acting on a tip of  a team of Santipur police along with the officials of the health department reached the house of the couple Parthapratim and Debashree in Buinchya and found containers of spurious ghee.
