World Religion Day Observed With All Faith Brotherhood Congregation In Krishnanagar

A multi-faith brotherhood congregation was held on Saturday evening at the Cathedral Church premises in Krishnanagar to mark World Religion Day, observed annually on the third Sunday of January (January 19). Representatives from various religious faiths participated in the event. Father Jose Pulickal, Director of Sanjibani Training Centre at the Bishop’s House in Krishnanagar, which organized the event, said, “Religion teaches us tolerance and fraternity, the core essence of all faiths—be it Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism, or others. In India, we have a rich legacy of this tradition of brotherhood and mutual understanding. Today, we have gathered to revisit that legacy amid challenges facing the country. We want to remind everyone that all religions uphold the values of humanism and tolerance, which are greater than anything else. Unfortunately, at times, humans forget the essence of humanism and behave irrationally. It is our duty to reinforce these true ethics.” World Religion Day aims to promote harmony and mutual understanding among people from diverse backgrounds. NfN Picture.
