Haringhata, May 20: The Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT) authorities have launched a community kitchen inside its campus in Nadia’s Baro Jagulia from Thursday to serve prepared meal packets for the Covid patients and the needy people free of cost.
Vice Chancellor of the University Professor Saikat Maitra said, “We will daily hand over the protein rich 350 meal packets to the Sub Divisional Officer of Kalyani as per the diet plan confirmed by him”. The MAKAUT authorities have formed a team of its employees who would prepare the meal complying with the Covid protocol. An official of Nadia district administration said that the meal packets will be distributed among the Covid patients admitted to NSS TB Sanatorium in Kalyani town and among their family members as well who are often seen waiting outside the hospital premise. This is a renewed endeavor similar to that of undertaken during the first wave of Covid19 last year, a MAKAUT spokesperson said.
